Commercial Office Room Divider Screens
Open plan offices work fine for some industries, but sometimes an open plan office is not such a great idea. If you have ever worked in an open plan office you will know what I mean – there is no privacy and it is very difficult to make a quite phone call. This problem is exasperated the more people you have in an office, because it becomes noisier.
One way to combat this problem is to have screens that divide up the room. Office room divider screens come in a variety of sizes, so it doesn’t mean you have to totally partition of the room by using floor to ceiling dividers. Having screens that are four to five feet (1.2 – 1.5m) tall will could in fact be a very good compromise – you would still be able to maintain all of the good points of having an open plan office. A lot of the time most of the noise being generated in an office comes from people talking loudly on the phone and from informal meetings, most of the time both of these tasks will be carried out in the seated position. As long as you furnish your office with screens that are above head height a lot of this sound will be prevented from escaping by the screen. If some one wants to talk to someone across the room though, all they need to do is stand up and see if they’re there. This is not a perfect solution to the problem of background noise, but using half height room divider screens will certainly help and is possibly the best compromise available.
Regardless of whether you have an open plan office, or a segmented one, you are definitely going to require some form of privacy at some point. Staff appraisals, meetings with clients or meetings with your boss are all meeting that you wouldn’t want to take place in the realm of an open place office regardless of how well you know each other. Not only could it be awkward for you, but also your client, presenting your company in a professional manner is paramount. If you are leasing a large open plan office, the likelihood is that you won’t be able to make any structural changes to the space. In this case a large floor to ceiling divider screen would be the ideal choice to make private rooms. For relatively little cost you would be able to provide private area without needing to get the builders in to carry out some heavy duty construction work.
Decide how you want to use your office space and then set about looking for the right room divider screens for your purposes.
